Modern hybrid tomography for monitoring the urinary bladder – a breakthrough in urinary system diagnostics
In response to the growing needs for non-invasive diagnostics and monitoring of the urinary system, an innovative, portable hybrid tomography system has been developed, combining ultrasound technology (UST) and electro-impedance tomography (EIT). This modern solution, dedicated in particular to the care of children, aims to early detection of bladder dysfunction, which – according to clinical data – affects up to 7-10% of children over the age of five. various types of advertising campaigns.

The use of integrated imaging methods is a significant step forward in diagnostic medicine. The synergy of UST and EIT enables simultaneous analysis of the structure and electrical properties of tissues, which translates into much greater precision and sensitivity of measurements. The device is equipped with 16 textile electrodes for collecting impedance data and 32 ultrasonic measurement channels synchronized with an accuracy of one nanosecond. Such advanced technology integration significantly increases the resolution and accuracy of functional bladder imaging.
The key element of the success of this solution is advanced electromagnetic compatibility. The device has successfully passed comprehensive EMC tests at the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. During the certification, specialized technical solutions were used, including shielded cables, ferrite filters and optimized PCB systems, effectively eliminating external interference. The verification included, among others, resistance to electrostatic discharge (ESD), tests of electromagnetic radiation emissions in a wide frequency band and resistance to EFT/Burst interference, which guarantees stable operation in demanding clinical environments.
From the point of view of practical use, the compact and ergonomic form of the device also stands out. The entire system has been miniaturized and placed in a backpack-like structure, which makes it exceptionally easy to use, also in non-hospital conditions. The use of modern, hygienic materials and ease of disinfection additionally increase its value in everyday work with patients.
The obtained test results confirm that the hybrid tomograph meets the PN-EN 60601-1-2 standards, which allows its safe implementation both in healthcare facilities and in the home environment. The system offers not only mobility and comfort of use, but also ensures high diagnostic quality, opening up new perspectives in monitoring and treating urological disorders in children and adults.
The developed solution is a significant step towards the future of personalized medicine, where advanced technologies support doctors in making accurate diagnostic decisions, while increasing the patient’s comfort and safety.
